Never assume IC manufactures are consistent in chip family design. Always read the datasheet...but datasheets could be wrong too.

"A good electronics engineer will find/read a component's manufacture's datasheet... 

 A great electronics engineer will find/read a component's manufacture's datasheet with skepticism.. 

AND I will find/read the manufacture's datasheet and
 actually test the component 
before believing anything i saw in the datasheet 
after 
I called the manufacturer's tech help line...
and see what they say.."
